Loved this apartment!

My family and I stayed here for 5 days in August. It was an amazing stay right from the start. We were met at the San Toma vaporetto stop and it was a 5-minute walk to the apartment. It was well equipped, clean, comfortable, air conditioned, very modern and beautifully decorated. We had a small issue with the wifi but Giulia’s son had a friend come and have a look and it was fixed right away.
We were lucky to have the most beautiful weather so we had the windows open while we sat on the benches overlooking the canal below and watched the tourists visit the beautiful Basilica right outside our window. There are so many restaurants, coffee shops, gift stores and a grocery store right around the corner.
Do not hesitate to stay here! Giulia was very easy to deal with and she responded to our inquiries right away.

Amazing Apartment in the best neighborhood

Everyday I spent in Venice confirmed that we choose the best apartment. My concern of being a mom with 2 children on my own in this area of Venice quickly disappeared once I realized that this is truly the best place to stay in this city. It is conveniently located by a major sight, the Frari Church, which helped us use as our point to navigate back to the apartment. It is in a safe residential neighborhood that the local Venetians live. The apartment is located in an oasis of calm and tranquility among the chaos of all the tourists. We were visiting the city during the busiest time of the year-the summertime. Our Venice experience was untainted and pure. My kids kept mentioning to me that the city had no tourists and how wonderfully serene it was- this is before I brought them to St. Mark's Square-there they experienced the frenzy and franticness of the city. The apartment is located in the San Polo region which is so close to the San Toma Vaporetto stop or you can walk to all the sights in 15 minutes. The apartment is spacious, modern and decorated beautifully. There is no lift to the apartment and you have to climb a couple flights of steps. Our host, Giulia, is such a sweet and helpful person. She offered to us some amazing experiences which I highly recommend to take advantage of. Her son's friend, Sebastino, owns a motorboat in which he took us out for 1 1/2 hour in these small canals and navigated us into the open waters that surround the city. This was an amazing experience! My kids loved it! Sebastino had these yummy sandwiches and drinks for us to enjoy during this experience. But, I have to tell you the best experience was spending time with Mrs. Ada. Our family has fallen in love with this kind, gentle and positive soul. Mrs. Ada is the grandmother the you want your children to have in their lives. She is an amazing chef that worked for 40 years as a chef of the Osteria alla Vedova (the most famous venetian osterie). This was our foodie heaven highlight of our trip to Italy. We joined her in the morning at the Rialto Market. This market has every type of fish, veggies, fruit and meats available to the Venetians. A true Farm to Table experience! Literally, we walked around each stand and decided what we wanted to eat that night. She cooked us the most amazing dinner that the most impressive restaurants in NYC can't compete with. We are a family of food snobs! We loved being here! When we return- we plan to stay at this apartment.

Well equipped, well maintained and well located.

The flat itself is very comfortable and has a welcoming feel. As can be seen from the photos the views are impressive and the main room balcony allows you to sit outside the windows on cushions and watch the activity in the campo. There is no shortage of activity with people passing through as they go about their business and tourists visiting the church. As the flat is centrally located in the central sestiere of San Polo, there is good access to most access to cafes restaurants and many cultural attractions. Indeed all of historic Venice is with reach using the available water transport or on foot. Giulia is most friendly and hospitable and responds quickly to any requests or needs. The flat is thoroughly cleaned and prepared between visits. We were three and really enjoyed our week in June (2015).

The House of the Sun is a true gem!

The property was immaculate and was exactly as the photos depicted. It was the perfect layout for two couples, and the kitchen was spacious and well stocked. The location was perfect for exploring Venice on foot, but was also close to the vaporetto and taxi stops. Our host, Giulia, was very gracious, accommodating and responsive to our requests/inquiries. She even braved a rare snow storm the night we arrived, to escort us from the train station to the property! We will definitely stay at Giulia's House of the Sun the next time we visit Venice. A very special thanks to Giulia for making our visit to Venice so special and unforgettable! Thank you!

Beautiful apartment, perfect location

This was my 7th or 8th trip to Venice and the best apartment ever. Giulia's apartment is spacious, bright, immaculate, and comfortable. The view of the Frari church with neighborhood Venetians crossing the campo and a gondolier in the canal below is peaceful and beautiful. Giulia leaves plenty of info about her favorite restaurants and shops. The highlight of our visit was our trip to the Rialto Market with her chef friend Ada, then the wonderful multi-course meal Ada came back and cooked for us that evening. I can highly recommend this apartment!

Fantastic Light Filled Space

The soft light of Venice has drawn artists and admirers to this city for centuries. As Ruskin described it, "tranquil cheerfulness of light". This wonderful apartment is flooded with this beautiful light. The space is open and airy with large rooms, tall windows and a wide balcony facing over a small canal toward the campo of the Basilica dei Frari. You can dash over the little bridge and cross the campo to pop into the Frari for a daily dose of Bellini or Titian (or Grom gelato). The apartment is excellently located within walking distance of all the 'must see' attractions of Venice. For trips further afield a vaporetto stop is close by. You can shop for everything from groceries, fresh bread, chocolate, pastries and flowers to antiques and gifts fight around the corner. We spent two blissful weeks in this comfortable, well appointed apartment. It is perfect for entertaining with a good sized, well outfitted kitchen and a dining table that can seat eight. Our delightful and vibrant hostess, Giulia Morgante, made us feel immiediately welcome. She is extremely obliging and carefully explained to us the details of the apartment and how to operate everything. Questions were answered and problems were dealt with promptly to insure that we had a pleasant stay. Giulia is a treasure trove of suggestions and information which she is happy to share so that you can experience her beautiful city at it's best.

exceptionnel !!!
